A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed
Friends play a very important role in our lives. But not every person around us can be called a good friend. A friend in need is a friend indeed – we all know this saying and I believe this is true.
I believe it is very important that you have a person beside you who you can trust. One of the most important things in a good friend for me is being supportive. A good friend is always near when you feel bad, lonely or upset. He is always ready to talk to you, to give you advice and support you. He also needs to know how to listen.
I have a lot of friends but I don’t think all of them would be near if something happened. Most of them would probably say they don’t have time or they don’t know what to do in a difficult situation. Sometimes you just need a person to listen to you, to stay with you for some time.
I believe I’m lucky to have such people in my life. My best friend is my mother. We have very good relationship with her and I can tell her almost everything. She is a grown- up and experienced person, so she can always give some good advice.
I also have a friend, her name is Sasha. She is a very nice person, kind and helpful. Once I had a hard situation in my life and was very upset, and it was Sasha who helped me a lot. She was talking to me all the time and taking me out to the cinema and cafes to make me feel better.

  • Not so many people can say that they have good friends. Of course, many of us we have good neighbors, colleagues and fellows. But are you sure any of them is ready to give you a hand of help when you need?
I read many nice stories and books about real friends, but in the life it is not really so.
For me a real friend is somebody that you don’t have any secrets with. You can share your problems, speak about your hopes and plans, complain about something. A good friend will not laugh at you. He will never tell your secret to anybody else. He will be your shoulder to cry and the person who will be happy together with you. You can be sure that he is with you in any situation.
Unfortunately today people don’t know what is good attention and how to appreciate it. Very often we share somebody’s secrets or discuss their problems. People don’t know how to keep silence.
I am sure one day I will meet the right person. I know there is my soulmate somewhere.
My mom says that her best friend is my dad. It is so cool when you can rely on your husband or wife. And I can see he is a really good friend for her and for me and my sister. He knows how to listen and gives a good advice. He supports us in any situation even if we are not right. He protects us every day even if we don’t ask him. He is a real head of the family and he is a good friend.
I wish everybody has a person who supports and trusts, who protects and helps. Then any hard and bad situation will be much more easier for you, if there is a person who takes care about you. Because a friend in need is a friend indeed.

  • Many songs, poems and legends are composed about friendship. Everyone has friends, and only thanks to friendship people can demonstrate the best traits of their character.
The common proverb says: “A friend in need is a friend indeed”. Everybody knows this proverb. But few people know that it’s more important to rely on friends in joy. If you have achieved great success in something, many people will envy you and only a real friend will be simply glad at your sake. Friendship is a very complicated feeling. It means respect and love, understanding and support. Having a friend helps us to keep secrets, get rid of selfishness, sympathize with the misfortunes of others and believe in people’s good intention. Thus we become better, purer, kinder and our character – stronger, deeper, and more mature. Friendship teaches to be perspicacious and understand the true nature of a man. And when it is a trouble, we need not fear it – friendship overcomes difficulties because it is stronger than anything else. Do you know that there is a friendly shoulder which we can always rely on? Without friends a man cannot live. Who will you go to if you have some problems? To your friend, of course. Now it is common to turn to a psychologist for advice. But I think that not everyone is able to share problems with an unknown person. But a close friend is a loving person. He is always ready to give a helping hand. I believe that life without friends is very boring. What do we expect from real friends? First of all it’s great when your friend stands by you whatever happens. We are afraid sometimes of being alone and when we feel abandoned and unhappy, a kind and sincere conversation with a friend is a good cure for our bad days. Situations in which one saves the other from certain death are rare. But different everyday problems happen often and true human relationships are shown there . For example, it is nasty weather in the street, you have got a cold and are lying in bed, and you do not have aspirin. You can wait till your mum or dad come back from work or can go to the chemist`s yourself or you can call your friend and ask him to buy some aspirin. A true friend will not refuse, and you`ll get your medicine in time. And if your friend needs your help and you`re busy, hurry up or you will fail a “friendship exam”. Everyone is lucky if he has found a loyal friend. Those who have similar interests, hobbies, ideas views have a better chance to become friends. I know that my friend will never betray me and I can trust him.
People, take care of each other and value friendship!

  • Friends and family is our support and help in any situation. Happiness with friends is twice better and problems with them is half easier. I can always rely on my friends in any situation.
When we go to the kinder garden we start to communicate with other children and there we make first friends. Later on we go to school and our experience of friendship becomes better.
We speak, share, discuss and so on and finally we can see if these people are able to listen to us and give any advice. Not everyone is able to be a good friend. So that’s why we have to be careful and chose a good friend.
At the university we have already great experience of friendship. We know how to communicate and how to be a real friend.
Lucky are people who have friends. I have heard many times: I don’t need friends. Well it’s not truth. Everybody needs sometime a person, who can stay close to you and listen you story; who can give you a piece of advice; who will share with you your bad and good days. That’s why people say: a friend in need is a friend indeed.
I have many friends but not all of them are real friends. To be a real friend means to support you in any situation. Only then you will feel summer even if it’s a cold winter day. Then any problem will be solved faster. You will see that your life is full of sense and happiness and what is more, you can make happy people around you. Life without friends is useless and boring.

  • Friendship is honoured in many songs, poems and legends. Aristotle wrote that friendship is the most necessary thing for life. It is difficult to man to live without friends.
    But really, what is friendship?
In my opinion, it is difficult to answer. When you ask children about it they often say, “We live in one house. We go to school and back home together. She gave me a candy, so we are friends”. I think it isn’t friendship.
Another example: if you help someone at exam you are a friend, if don’t you are not.
If you help someone in difficult situation and expect something from that person for your help it isn’t friendship. This is like seeking benefit.
“A friend in need is a friend indeed” – this saying explains everything. But is it necessary to get in trouble to find a friend or to make sure that he is “real”? Very few people understand that reliable friends can be seen in the day of your success and joy, because when you are happy someone can feel envy and only real friends are ready to share your joy.
I also agree that true friendship can be tested by time, a true friend is that who “ate a peck of salt” with you.
My only friend is that who can tell me what is stored in the depth of his soul, who will support me in the most difficult and happy moments.
Friendship is verified tests (as in the song by Vladimir Vysotsky):
    If a friend was suddenly
And not a friend nor an enemy, but – so
If you just can not tell,
It is bad or good –
Human in the mountains pull – I dare!
    Do not leave him alone,
Let it in conjunction with one of you –
    They understand who this.
Friendship is a complicated feeling. It is linked with a variety of qualities: respect, love, kindness, loyalty, patience, and so on. There is no “friendship in its purest form” And it’s probably a good thing.
By entering into friendly relations with another person, people learn to be faithful to each other, get rid of selfishness, begin to sympathize with the misfortunes of others and rejoice in another’s joy.
And when trouble comes we need not fear it – friendship will certainly overcome misfortune, because it is stronger than anything else.

  • Сочинение на английском с переводом — My FriendNowadays there are not so many people whom I can call the best friends. I agree with the saying: “A friend in need is a friend indeed” because only my friend can help me when I really have problems. My best friend’s name is Margo, and she is my groupmate at the university. Besides, we have been friends for 4 years already and almost have never quarreled.
Margo is a very pretty young woman with big grey eyes and long curly fair hair. Moreover, she has a beautiful mouth with plump lips and a fresh complexion. When she smiles, there are dimples in her cheeks, and there is a little mole under her lips, which adds her more attraction and charm. Actually, she is not very tall, but her figure is rather slim. We like to spend our free time together listening to good pop music, watching and discussing new films.
Sometimes, we prefer to hang out at clubs at weekends. Margo is very smart and looks really attractive. In fact, she is a fashion victim, and it costs a pretty penny to her. Besides, she immediately becomes the centre of attention wherever she goes. My friend has a wonderful sense of humour, and she always cheers me up when I’m depressed, and I’m never bored with her. Although Margo is a good personality, she has also some bad habits as every person has. For example, she is very stubborn never changing her mind even if she is not right. Furthermore, Margo is sometimes absent-minded. Her mother is always angry with her for it.
Yet, Margo is my best friend, and I admire her for her kindness, as she always gives me a hand of help if I need. I hope that after graduating the university we will still stay the best friends in our independent future.

Why Do We Need Friends?

There is a wise saying: “A friend in need is a friend indeed” and it is always true. A friend is a person who you can trust. I think that everyone needs good friends, otherwise life becomes boring. We all need people to laugh and to cry with, to go out and to have fun with, to play active and board games with and finally to share darkest secrets with, etc. These people are called friends.
In the process of time there are fewer friends, but those who stay become as close to you as relatives. Time shows who is reliable, trustworthy, who shares the same interests with you, who accepts you as you are. These people are real friends and we should treasure them.
Recent research has shown that having friends increases lifespan. These people inspire us, tell us to eat healthy, encourage us to keep a diet if necessary. On the other hand, friends can reinforce the bad habits you developed. Thus, they need to be chosen wisely. Life is depressing without friends. After family members these people are those who care for you. Best friends don’t necessarily please you all the time telling nice things. They can sometimes tell you the bitter truth. It doesn’t mean they want to hurt you. They simply want to help you to sort out things. It’s always good to have fair and trustworthy friends, because we needs people who feel happy with our success and sad with our failure. They are always there for you and never ask anything in return except love and friendship.

  • The relationship with a friend has not been properly realized by us. Some do not believe in nurturing friendship as they are by nature aloof and reserved. This nature is not desirable, for, it indicates the lack of sociability. Sometimes parents or teachers may not be able to enforce a point on their child and a friend may come in to help them. I can relate an incident in the life of my relative. In fact he was my cousin. His son was adamant that he would not join the engineering course, but his father insisted that he should join the course as he would have bright professional prospects. Any amount of persuasion by his father did not work. At last his son’s friend intervened and spoke to his friend of the importance of his father’s valuable advice.
His father was very happy that a known problem was solved satisfactorily. After the engineering course my cousin’s son is quite well off with a fat pay. His life changed as his friend took interest in him. There is a saying which tells about the importance of good friendship. It is this: ‘Tell me who is your friend and I shall tell you what kind of person you are.’ Yes, a friend has much to do with the shaping of our character as our parents and teachers. A student should be careful to choose his or her friends. If the friend with whom you are going to establish connection is of bad character slowly but surely you too are affected by him or her.
