Advantages of sport
- Everyone knows that physical activity is very good for our health. Regular workouts improve cardiac performance and blood circulation. Thanks to physical activity a person becomes stronger and more energetic.
- Sport helps develop confidence. Self-esteem and belief in one’s own strength increase if a person starts going in for sports.
- Sport stimulates brain activity. Many years ago it was proved that people who engage in sports are more stable mentally and emotionally. They are more confident in making decisions and are more concentrated while doing some work.
- Sport makes our life more interesting. The number of places where one can go in for sports is endless. The possibilities of joining a new community and making new friends are endless, too. People join fitness clubs, attend swimming pools and even go to parks to do some outdoor yoga.
Disadvantages of sport
- There is always a risk of being injured when going in for sports. Even professionals get injuries despite having done different exercises for years. If somebody suffers an injury, it is good to know how to give first aid.
- Not all sports are equally affordable. There are kinds of sports that are quite cheap which makes them affordable for majority of people (for example, yoga and swimming). But there are sports that can be very expensive. Sometimes people have to pay a lot of money for sports equipment (for example, golf clubs, mountain bikes or skis) or classes with a coach (for example, private sessions with a tennis instructor).

- Спорт делает нашу жизнь более интересной. Количество мест, где можно заниматься спортом, безгранично. Возможности влиться в новое общество и обрести новых друзей также безграничны. Люди записываются в фитнес-клубы, посещают бассейны и даже ходят в парк, чтобы позаниматься йогой на свежем воздухе.
Минусы спорта
- При занятиях спортом всегда есть риск получения травмы. Даже профессионалы получают травмы, несмотря на то, что выполняют разные упражнения годами. Если кто-то получает травму, полезно знать, как оказывать первую помощь.
- Не все виды спорта одинаково доступны. Существуют виды спорта, которые стоят достаточно дешево, что делает их доступными для большинства людей (например, йога и плавание). Но есть виды спорта, которые могут быть очень дорогими. Иногда людям приходится дорого платить за спортивное снаряжение (например, клюшки для гольфа, горные велосипеды или лыжи) или за уроки с тренером (например, индивидуальные сессии с инструктором по теннису).

In the modern society increasing attention has been put in finding ways to increase people well-being, as an individual who is socially and psychologically stable, is more likely to be satisfied with his life with a positive impact on society as well. Some consider sport a great example of an activity to achieve this goal, and I personally agree on its effectiveness. Although, a selection of other leisure activities can have the same great impact on people’s lives.
Practicing sport results in a number of benefits for people, such as meeting the need to establish new friendships. Nothing is considered more effective to bound with others than sharing a common hobby, thus it can represent a topic to start a conversation. Besides that, when it comes to sports that must be experienced in group, it’s impossible not to begin interacting with the group members.
Moreover, as regards the psychological positive effects that it can lead to, it is undeniable that, because sport capture the player’s attention, can help forgetting problems and therefore relax. In some case it can also become a good method to ventilate frustration, thanks to the release of negative feelings and the expenditure of the energy cumulated during the day.
Even if I strongly believe that practicing sport is one of the greatest way to pursue an healthy life’s style, other measures can be taken. An example can be found in movie or food festival. As a matter of fact, generally speaking, these two activities attract most of the people that, grouping together would find a place and a time to share their passions and to enjoy their leisure time.
