  Many people enjoy watching soap operas and spend all evenings living life of the soap opera characters. Is it really a good way to spend your leisure time?
  In my opinion soap operas are the most dull and less interesting product of TV industry. First of all, they are very long and the plot is primitive. I’d better solve my own problems than watch difficulties in other people’s life. Secondly, the acting in such kind of movies is awful. The actors who play in soap operas do not deserve to be called actors, because very often they are not able to act. Thirdly, soap operas are really useless, because they don’t give food for your brain. There is nothing to think about and reflect on in the soap operas.
  However, many people find soap operas enjoyable and realistic. They think that these movies state universal problems. I can’t agree with such arguments, because in every soap opera there is only one problem: someone is really ill or perished, and others cry over spilt milk. All emotions are exaggerated in soap operas that’s why I can’t agree with the statement that they are realistic.
  To sum up, I am not one of those who enjoy soap operas. I suppose that there are far pleasanter and useful ways of spending free time. I don’t mind of people watching soap operas, but it is certainly not my choice.

It must be admitted that watching soap operas is becoming more and more popular with every year. Some people find them interesting, realistic and worth seeing. Others consider watching them to be a waste of time. In my composition I am going to express my personal opinion on the matter and debate with my opponents.

Основная часть

•             В первом абзаце основной части, выразить свое мнение по сформулированной проблеме, аргументировать (привести не менее 2 развернутых аргументов в защиту своей позиции). Аргументы должны обосновывать заявленную позицию, логично включаться в текст, служить основанием для выводов, быть созвучными с главным тезисом, степень убедительности проявляется в строгой логичности или эмоциональной оценочности.

•             Во втором абзаце нужно выразить чужую точку зрения по проблеме и привести 1-2 аргумента, объясняющий ее.

• В третьем абзаце основной части объясни, почему ты не согласен с противоположной точкой зрения.

Аргументация – 1) это логический вывод, служащий основанием доказательства;

2) вид речевого сообщения, который вызывается необходимостью определить позицию говорящего или пишущего. Средствами аргументации являются суждения или совокупность суждений.

To my mind, soap operas are very important because they a cheap and available entertainment for millions of TV viewers. In spite of the fact that characters of such series often have some unrealistic problems we are always happy when they solve them and wait for the happy end. Moreover, soap operas sometimes unite people of different generations. As for me, I really used to enjoy watching Brazilian soaps with my Granny.

Nevertheless, some people criticize soap operas a lot. They suppose that such sort of TV programs is a waste of time because soaps can’t teach us anything.

However, some of my opponents believe that soap operas show us interesting life situations and even help us to cope with our problems.

To my mind there are programmes on TV which can teach and educate us better than soap operas. For example, we can learn a lot watching programmes about nature, culture and history. Some of my friends say there’s nothing better than reading a good book while others would rather watch its film version.

Nowadays, most young people prefer to find out the plot of the book watching its film version. Personally, I like reading books. I think even a good film can’t replace a good book.

I am sure, books give us an opportunity to look at the characters differently. Reading a book a person can understand the author and his ideas better. I guess, books are a treasure-house of knowledge, emotions, feelings and ideas. Reading a book helps to develop people’s imagination. They can imagine themselves being in that period of time when the main events take place. I think, reading a book of classical writer inspires emotions in people’s souls. People analyze actions of main characters and try to become better themselves. I’m sure, books teach us a lot. For example, they teach us to solve problems, communicate with people, love nature and take care of it. Moreover, some books are full of wisdom, they make people think over their life, their values.

However, most young people prefer watching film to reading a good book. They think that reading is boring and takes a lot of time. Film version consists of not all facts written in a book. That’s why, it is sometimes difficult to understand author’s ideas. Moreover, we look at the characters like actors look at them. We imagine all events in the same way. Besides, some film directors change some facts from the book or add something else.

To sum it up, reading is one of the best exercises for people’s minds. Bodies can’t be replaced by film versions because literature is the greatest human property.

По признанию многих выпускников, самая трудная часть ЕГЭ — письменное высказывание с элементами рассуждения. Ученики называют это  сочинением, боятся его также как русский аналог и отказываются от сдачи ЕГЭ чаще всего из-за этого задания. Их можно понять. Эссе —  это не тест с выбором правильного ответа, везение здесь не поможет, нужно обладать определенными знаниями и навыками. Вопрос в том, как быстро их можно приобрести. Если эта миссия в принципе выполнима, что же мешает заняться этим кроме лени. Оказывается — проблема в психологии.

Как ни странно, но подавляющее большинство неудач при выполнении этого задания связано не с низким уровнем  английского, а с ошибочным образом, который выдает ваша память в ответ на запрос «написать сочинение». В основном ученики представляют себе этот процесс так —  на бумаге появляются строчка за строчкой, пока сочинение не будет готово. Ключевое слово здесь – «появляются». Этот образ часто присутствует в фильмах и книгах, где речь идет о создании тех или иных текстов. Он настолько знаком и привычен, что вы недоумеваете, а как же может быть иначе. Оказывается, может. Англичанам это очень хорошо известно, они большие мастера писать по образцу.  А вам, чтобы играть по их правилам,  нужно просто перезагрузить ваш мыслительный компьютер и поменять ключевое слово на «проявляются». Вспомните, что такое проявка фотографий. На пустом листе бумаги начинает проступать некий образ, пока не обретет необходимую четкость. Именно это вам и предстоит сделать со своим сочинением.
Ниже приведен пример письменного высказывания с элементами рассуждения, за которое можно в идеале получить 14 баллов. Тема определена следующим образом. (При внимательном прочтении вы увидите пару грубых грамматических ошибок в употреблении степеней сравнения прилагательных, за которые автор и был наказан).

Первая реакция на эту работу моих учеников, неуверенных в своем английском, была следующая: «Где я, а где это сочинение?» Но на самом деле, при определенных усилиях и небольшом резерве времени  высокие баллы  вполне достижимы, если вы вообще учили английский в школе.  Как это сделать? Давайте начнем с того, что только ленивый не знает сегодня, что второе письменное задание ЕГЭ по иностранному языку должно содержать в себе от 200 до 250 слов плюс-минус 10%, или оно не будет оценено вообще. Допустим, ваше сочинение  будет состоять из 200 слов. Представим это в виде точек.

Вывод 1: Сочинение в минимальном объеме нужно написать. Чушь и бред лучше, чем ничего. Сочинение оценивается следующим образом –  по 3 балла максимум  за содержание, оформление, лексику и грамматику и 2 балла за орфографию и пунктуацию. Содержание предполагает наличие проблемы, точки зрения автора с аргументами, противоположной точки зрения с объяснениями и вывода. Оформление требует логики изложения, деления на абзацы и использования логических связок. Разделим наши точки на четыре абзаца по количеству содержательных задач. Логично, если вступление и заключение будут короче абзацев основной части, например, вдвое.

Вывод 2:  200 слов чуши, разнесенных на четыре абзаца, принесут вам как минимум 1 балл. В сочинении — образце выделим логические связки и впишем их в тело нашей работы.

В настоящий момент написано уже 15 % текста. Вы, безусловно, способны его выучить даже за пару дней до экзамена.
Вывод 4:  20 вновь добавленных слов скорее всего принесут вам еще один балл, так как вы определенно высказали свое мнение, даже если оно бредовое, и вы были предельно логичны, хотя, возможно, несли чушь. 15% сочинения  уже написаны, 3 балла заработаны, а мы даже не озаботились темой работы. Сочинение начинает проявляться. Остальные 85% в следующих статьях. До свидания и удачи вам, выпускники!

Today soap operas are very popular, and many people find them enjoyable and realistic, but some people don’t think so. Let’s discuss this problem.

To begin with I would like to say that there are a lot of different opinions about soap operas. On the one hand, soap operas can help us to spend out time rather nice, because they are very interesting and true-to-life. Another good thing is that people can find a very close situations to their life in soap operas. There can be a situation, which was in the life of the watcher, so you can see different ways of its outcoming, what can be very useful. Moreover, soap operas wake feelings of people, they can make people sympathies and empathize heroes, they can make people more human.

On the other hand, there are some disadvantages of soap operas. For example soap operas can be unrealistic and they can be just a useless thing. Another one problem is a dependence on a soap opera. People just can’t wait for the next series. Moreover, soap operas need a lot of free time, which people can spend for more useful things.

In conclusion I would like to say I don’t think that soap operas are bad for people or that they do not need them at all. If the person wants to see it and he finds it enjoyable and realistic- it is his opinion and his choice.
