Nowadays it is rather hard to choose the right profession for young people because there are so many occupations in the world. Some teenagers simply follow in their parents’ footsteps when choosing a career without thinking through. However, some people think that choosing a profession should depend on interests and individual qualities.

As for me, I think a person should choose a profession independently. To begin with, people are different let alone their interests, so consideration one’s strong points and individual qualities when choosing a profession is very important. Furthermore, if a person chooses the career he or she is fond of, the likelihood of becoming successful and independent is higher because this person will always know what to do and never leave things half done.

On the other hand, some people claim that following in parents’ footsteps when choosing a profession gives more chances to gain success easily and fast. In their mind, parents will always help and encourage their children with the occupation, so the first steps of a career ladder will be easy.

I cannot agree with these people. If a person chooses the career he or she really likes and will never give up on anything, becoming successful will be a matter of time because one will do the best to achieve great accomplishments.

To sum up, I would say that picking the right profession is very important. The occupation that tailors to one’s interests and hobbies will bring a lot of satisfaction and help become a successful person.

The question of following parents’ footsteps has been discussed for quite a long time. Some people say that children have to choose the same profession as their parents, whereas others do not agree. They believe that children have to get a major that they really like.

In my opinion children should not follow their parents major. First of all, children can have different interests than their parents. For example, parents might be doctors but their children are interested in program writing. There is no use in forcing them to follow their parents’ path since they will not be happy to cure patients. Secondly, having a profession that a person does not like is going to make him a poor worker.

At the same time there are people who think that children must have the same profession as their parents. As a rule, parents know their major well and they can explain all its details to their children. It will ease children’s career.

I do not agree with the statement mentioned above. It does not matter if a person can have a good support in a particular sphere or not. The main thing is skills that allow a person to love his or her work and to be good at their job.

soch 001 005

In conclusion, I would like to say there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight children should imitate what their mother and father do, but in actual fact if children’ skills are different, they should have different occupation. Thus, I strongly believe young people should not follow in their parents’ footsteps when choosing a profession.

Choosing a career is a life-changing decision and should be given some serious thoughts before making a choice. It is often argued on who should make this decision, whether to let the younger generation choose for themselves, or should parents step in and make that decision. This essay agrees with the former but will discuss both views of the argument.

Young people should be free to decide on what profession they want to pursue. Moreover, by letting them do this, we are enabling them to become more responsible and independent. It is evident that people wants different things and their choices may not always agree with their parents. But, by trusting them, we give them the opportunity to learn through their experiences that they can apply to help themselves find success and happiness. In fact, a lot of people found fame and fortune just by simply listening to what their heart’s desire and following their dreams.

However, many also believes that parents know their children better and therefore have a better idea on what career path should their child take. After all, every parent wants a bright future for their child therefore entrusting them would be the best thing to do. But, in my opinion, unless the child shares the same view, they will eventually lose interest, fail to find passion or happiness in what they are doing and regret following their parent’s advice. In fact, many students drop out or shift course primarily because of these reasons.

In conclusion, although it is true that parent by nature would want nothing but the best for their children, the later is just as able in making decisions for themselves. Nevertheless, it is always important to be true to oneself because success is not only measured in terms of monetary gain, but more importantly, by finding happiness or a sense of purpose on what you are doing.

Some people think that young people should choose their professions themselves. Others believe that their parents should choose for them. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Deciding on a profession or career path is an important milestone in an individual’s life. While some people argue that young individuals should make their own decisions when choosing a profession, others, however, state that parents should make that choice for them. Personally, I believe that making independent choices is very important in a person’s professional and personal life.

For the development of an individual’s professional life, it is very important that they make their own decision. Making a choice on their own does not mean not listening to other people’s point of view; rather it means absorbing all the available information and coming to a conclusion on one’s own). Choosing a profession of one’s preference / liking means that they will love what they do). It makes work very interesting and also provides satisfaction. Making one’s own choice also gives a sense of ownership and responsibility. Individuals are more likely to strive to achieve excellence in a profession they like. Young people also have a different understanding of the new world that might be different from their parents. So, they might be in a better position to make informed decisions.

Parents, on the other hand, have lots of experience than their children, so it is equally important to listen to them for guidance on professional matters. Parents have seen the world changing with them and they have a better idea of which field is more reliable and which is risky. Therefore, their guidance is very important for a stable life. Most of the time parents know their children better, so they are likely to suggest a profession that suits them.

While both of these views are valid, I believe the autonomy / the freedom to choose one’s professional life is very important. Choosing one’s own career gives them a sense of ownership and satisfaction. If young people choose what they like for profession, they are more likely to put their heart and soul into it and it is the formula for success.

To conclude, young people should choose their own career path but should always consider their parents’ advice while making a decision. Parents should guide them in the right direction but at the same time should allow young individuals to choose their own career path.
