Nowadays, more and more teenagers are using the Internet. Some people believe that surfing the Net does harm to them, while others disagree with this point of view.

As for me, I do not consider browsing the web harmful. On the contrary, I find it rather beneficial. There are a few reasons for that. Firstly, the Internet is a great source of information of any kind, which is especially important for teenagers’ education and self-development. Secondly, it is a modern means of communication with people all around the world. Moreover, the web gives young people limitless opportunities for entertainment and pastime.

However, there are people who support a different opinion. They claim that the Internet is a very dangerous thing. For example, when teenagers spend hours in front of the computer screen, they ruin their health and mind.

Personally, I do not agree with my opponents’ opinion. If a young person has a reasonable approach to browsing, no problems arise. Teenagers usually have many other interesting and important things to do, so they limit their time online.

To sum up, although there are different opinions about surfing the Net, I still do not find it harmful to teenagers.

Лично я не согласен с мнением моих оппонентов. Если у молодого человека есть разумный подход к просмотру, никаких проблем не возникает. У подростков обычно есть много других интересных и важных дел, поэтому они ограничивают свое время в Интернете.

Подводя итог, скажу, что хотя существуют различные мнения о времяпровождении в сети, я все равно не считаю это вредным для подростков.

People always invent something new and unusual. Such things aimed to simplify people’s life always become an important part of it. For example, it is difficult to imagine the modern life without computers, television, cars, mobile phones and so on. We use them in our everyday life. Besides, every year all such inventions are developed and become faster and “smarter”.

Nowadays we often hear a popular word “gadget”. What is a gadget? It is a small device aimed to simplify the life of people. We can meet gadgets in different fields. For example, we use different kinds of fitbits in sport. It seems to me that one of the most unusual gadgets is used in medicine. It is an electronic adhesive bandage. It traces different things such as pulse rate and body temperature. In software industry the term “gadget” is also used. However in that field it means some additional icon, for example, which shows weather forecast.

As for devices it is impossible not to mention such gadgets as virtual vision video glasses, game consoles, smartphones, tablets, MP3-players and many other things. Smartphones are mobile phones which combines the functions of a phone and a computer. Tablets are devices with touch screen which gives a user an opportunity to control different computer software programmes. E-books are also gadgets. They allow people to read books everywhere without necessity of carrying printed books.

In my opinion, gadgets really simplify our life and allow us do many things when and where it is convenient for us.

I can not imagine my life today without gadgets. My phone is my best friend, organizer, navigator, vocabulary and so on. I use it every day and almost everywhere. If I go out I always take my phone with me. It helps me to find the right place, any schedule, to buy a ticket and many other useful things.

Another important function of my mobile phone is contact with my friends and family. Today everyone has a profile on Facebook, vkontakte, Twitter, Instagram, viber, Skype. Through these networks I can send pictures and videos, make video call and send any important information in couple of minutes. Besides I can always call my mom and tell her that I am fine and I will be at home soon. Everyone has today a phone but we never think how much useful this thing is for us.

Another my important gadget is my personal computer. It is almost same like my phone, but with bigger screen and it has more memory. I stoped to watch TV, but look for any important information on my PC. It is also so much useful for school and homework. If I need to make any presentation my computer is my best helper. Technologies today are so much important.

My headphones help me to relax and forget about any problems. If I have to travel somewhere, I always take them with me. I like to listen to music or audio books or trainings, so I put my headphones in my eyes and I am not bothering anyone.

In future I would like to have Apple Watch. I have read a lot of information about it and it is a good thing for every person.

I can speak about gadgets forever and describe how much useful these things are today. Every person has preferences and we got used to have what we have. And we can not imagine even one day without these gadgets.

Он настолько полезен для школы и домашних заданий. Если мне нужно сделать любую презентацию, мой компьютер- мой лучший помощник. Технологии сегодня очень важны.

Мои наушники помогают мне расслабиться и забыть о всех проблемах. Если мне нужно куда-то уехать, я всегда беру их с собой. Мне нравится слушать музыку, аудио книги или тренинги. Так я вставляю наушники и никого не беспокою.

В будущем я бы хотела купить часы Apple. Я много читала о них и они бы пригодились каждому.

Я могу говорить о гаджетах бесконечно и описывать, насколько они сегодня важны. У каждого есть свои предпочтения и мы имеем то, что имеем. И не можем представить и даже дня без них.

Computers, smartphones, and the internet have entered our life and we hardly imagine it without modern technologies. However, we cannot say that electronic devices and the internet have only advantages.

Nowadays, there are millions of video games available for mobile phones, tablets, laptops, computers, and even TVs. Not surprisingly, teenagers are most crazy about games. However, this hobby is mainly supposed to be bad.

The problem is that video games make young people addicted which leads to aggressive behavior, sociopathy, and depressions. Certainly, not all games are that bad, there are safe ones which do not affect teenagers in a bad way.

Nevertheless, most games are violent and make gamers kill. Due to the constant development of technologies, graphics become better and better, so do the cruel scenes with lots of blood in games. Video games’ creators try to stir up the interest of their customers releasing a series of games, updating them and adding the function of the network game.

In such a way, gamers remain hooked and never lose interest. They can always improve their results and play with other people as well as their friends. Teenagers might spend a lot of money on computer games, too. Apart from the cost of discs and different accessories for the computer, they also buy virtual weapons or even game characters.

Addicted teenagers have problems with communication and become indifferent to real life which is obviously dangerous for their future.

When writing an opinion essay, we present our personal opinion on a particular topic supported by reasons and/or examples. This type of essay is written in a formal style. An opinion essay consists of:

an introduction in which we introduce the topic and clearly state our opinion;
a main body consisting of three paragraphs. In the first two paragraphs we present our viewpoints supported by reasons and examples. In the third paragraph we present the opposing viewpoint. We connect our points with appropriate linking words. We start each main body paragraph with a topic sentence;
a conclusion in which we restate our opinion in different words.

Secondly, technology is a valuable resource that has allowed teens to learn new skills. For instance, many teenagers today are able to multi-task and do research using the Internet. Furthermore, they have learnt keyboard and computer skills that will help them at school and later in their working lives.

On the other hand, there are those who believe that technology has had a negative effect on today’s teenagers. They say that teens become distracted and waste their time with their gadgets instead of concentrating on more important things such as schoolwork. As a result, teens become antisocial as they prefer to communicate digitally instead of face-to-face.

In conclusion, teenagers’ use of gadgets and devices enriches their daily experiences in many ways. As technology advances, I think teenagers will be better prepared for the future.
