Space travel эссе

Until recently, travelling into space was known only to astronauts and ordinary
people did not know anything about space flights. However, nowadays it has completely changed. It is possible both for you and for me to fly into space and watch the Earth from thousands of kilometres away.
Tourism space travels have many advantages but there are also few negative sides of such a phenomenon.

First of all, travelling into space is an exciting adventure, which cannot be compared to anything else. Space tourists could feel free, independent and it could be an adventure of their life too.

Moreover, space travels let travellers gain unusual experience and knowledge, which they cannot get from any book or film watched on TV. They could also develop their intrests and imagination. That is why these journeys recently have become the greatest tourist attraction.

On the other hand, space travels can be very dangerous because of unknown conditions for human living. Lack of fresh air, food and living nature could cause many problems with health or frame of mind. What is more, people are not able predict how their body will react in different environment conditions.

Furthermore, the price of space travels is very high. That kind of travelling is very very expensive and available only for people that can afford it. Such trips cannot be bought at a travel agency.

Taking everything into consideration, space flights could be an exciting, unusual experience and even adventure of our life. They can also give us precious knowledge and will certainly become a great tourist attraction. However, they are also very expensive, dangerous and only some of us could afford them.

So maybe our grandchildren in the future will travel into space for their vacation and it will be an ordinary way of spending free time?

Many people have sacrificed their lives to quench the thirst for knowledge and to satisfy his curiosity to gain knowledge.

In the olden days people used to worship sun and moon thinking them sacred heavenly bodies. But the scientific investigation had proved that sun is an ordinary star and moon is a planet like other planets. After this the man has entered the age of the space travel.

The invention of rocket was the first step in space travel. Scientists had already discovered that there was neither air nor water on the moon. The moon was the first target of the man. The moon is our nearest neighbour.

It is about 300000 kms from the earth. A space ship travelling at a speed of 4000 kms. per hour can cover this distance in 10 hours.

The scientists had further discovered that the surface of moon is rough and full of craters, rocks and mountains.

America was the first country in the world whose astronauts landed first on the moon. Scientists now are trying to find out if there is life on Mars or not and they are planning to conquer it also.

Many centuries after that space travel can be taken as an excursion tour by the rich people of the world who can afford a huge amount for their will.

Nowadays space industry is developing rapidly, it is possible that there will be a chance for everyone to travel around space, and very soon. Some people believe that it will provide new opportunities, while others argue that space tourism is pointless.

As far as I am concerned, space travelling is a positive option due to the benefits it brings. Firstly, it will allow scientists to explore space and make more discoveries. Secondly, it will expand knowledge and horizons of ordinary people as well. Lastly, it will bring the humanity to a qualitatively new level of living. That is why I vote for it.

However, some people do not agree with my point of view. According to them, space tourism has no perspectives because it will only be available for rich people. Besides, it is quite dangerous. This reasoning makes people think about uselessness of space travelling.

Nevertheless, I do not agree with these arguments. This is exactly owing to my belief that developers of space technologies will try to make space tourism safe and affordable to everyone.

In conclusion, I would like to state that the opportunity of traveling around space is definitely very perspective. I hope that it will be possible to try such a journey in the near future.

TOPIC: Space travel has been made sometime and people think that space tourism will be probably developed in the future. Do you think space travel would be a positive or negative development?

ANSWER:
The development of tourism has led to a possibility that space travel will be widely available in the future. However, I would contend that this form of travel is the negative development for the following reasons.

To begin with, there are many negative aspects of space travel. Firstly, the equipment required for this means of travel is relatively expensive because money needed to produce aircrafts is far more than the amount for other vehicles. Secondly, space tourism causes environmental contamination. When operating, aircrafts release huge amount of exhaust fumes into the surroundings, and the ozone layer will be seriously affected while the rockets are launched. Finally, travellers would face the risk of problems related to health. Visiting a strange star is a potential danger because there are circumstances that we cannot control or give first aid whenever necessary.

Some people may claim that space travel can broaden our knowledge of the universe. However, I believe that planets where no life exists have nothing to visit, except for stones and rough surfaces. In lieu of taking the tour, people can have many other ways to gain knowledge of the planets and the universe by reading science books and watching science movies to be safer and less costly. The purposes of travelling base largely on relaxation and discovery; therefore, no justification would be rational to justify the growth of space tourism. That is the reason why many people reject the development of space travel.

In conclusion, I firmly hold the view that space tourism has many drawbacks than benefits, and the development of this industry should not be promoted.

Space travel involves sending manned and unmanned spacecrafts into the low orbits of the earth and space. Space travel has helped in the exploration of life on other planets such as Mars. Landing on the moon in 1968 was a major milestone in space travel which paved the way for manned space missions. This is a paper on space exploration. Special focus is given to the history, benefits, costs, and requirements for space travel.
Studies in space rocket development occurred in three countries simultaneously. Three scientists championed rocket engine development and these were Konstantin Tsiolkovski of Russia, Robert Goddard of the United States, and Hermann Oberth of Germany. During WWII, Nazi Germany conceived the idea of long-distance rockets to bomb distant targets. This was effectively used in the late stages of the war when London was hit by V- 2 missiles with a 200-mile range and travelling at 3500 miles per hour and an altitude of 60 miles. Later, after the war, the United States and Soviet Union launched missile programs in their respective countries.
Soviets launched their first satellite, Sputnik 1 in 1957 while a Russian, Lt. Yuri Gagarin orbited the earth in 1961 aboard Vostok 1. In 1961, the Unites States president, John F Kennedy, made landing a man on the moon and bringing him back to earth a national goal. In 1969, Neil Armstrong accomplished this by being the first man to set foot on the moon.
Space travel has been applied widely in space exploration. Six Apollo missions were made to probe the moon between 1969 and 1972. Unmanned spacecrafts probed the moons service during the early 1960s. In the early 1970s, satellites were widely used for orbiting communication and navigation. Satellites were used by the Allied Forces in the Gulf War, which enabled them to win the war by studying enemy troop formations. The International Space Station is a result of joint efforts from different countries. The station is a research laboratory which signifies cooperation in space exploration.
Space exploration has led to the development of other technologies in use for ordinary non space applications. These include application such as cell phone cameras, clean energy, software, CAT scans, robotics, scratch resistant lenses, water filtration and purification, medicine, transportation, and engineering. The long term goal of space exploration against the achievements made so far is to send humans and robots above the low earth orbit and achieve sustained access to space exploration destinations such as the moon, Mars, and asteroids.
The cost of space travel is high for both astronauts and civilians. It costs $450 million to launch a space shuttle. A total of 135 missions would cost a total sum of $192 billion. It is estimated that the commercial cost of space travel per individual would range around $200,000. The challenger cost $1.7 billion to launch. It was replaced by the Enterprise, which was the first spacecraft, and cost $196 billion dollars to launch. Columbia cost $192 billion dollars to launch that have not been replaced yet. Others space crafts include Discovery, Atlantis, and Endeavour that launched at a total cost of $196 billion each. A single spacesuit costs about $12 million.
Space exploration seeks to establish the possibility of life on other planets and the capability of their environments to support life by searching for water or energy. This is achieved through analysis of radio feedback from signals sent into space. The existence of live on other planets would enhance space exploration by offering bases for space stations. NASA’s Dr. William Danch estimates Mars will be habitable for the next several billion years.
An individual can apply to NASA to become an astronaut. Applications are categorized into two groups, civilian and military. An applicant must be a holder of at least a bachelor’s degree in engineering, biological sciences, physical science or mathematics. The majority of applicants are Master’s and PhD holders. NASA accepts individuals with 1000 hours as a pilot-in command in a jet aircraft. The ideal candidate must be physically fit with a 20/20 natural or corrective lenses vision, 140/90 blood pressure at a sitting position, a height between 62 and 75 inches and a good physical shape.
Life in space is almost similar to earth with a few variations due to the low gravity. Astronauts use sponge baths instead of normal showers, observe nutrition, work out for perfect physical shape, and sleep in sleeping bags attached to walls. Astronauts go to the bathroom by using belts to strap themselves to the seats while a bag collects the waste.
